Abstract

This record retracts the previously published prediction of a fundamental octonionic decoherence channel with coherence-time scaling τ ∝ M⁻⁸ᐟ³ (the "decoherence cliff"), proposed as a levitated-optomechanics test of non-associative spacetime geometry. A subsequent pre-registered analysis of the channel's absolute heating rate shows it is not viable: under the dynamical-coupling reading required to produce which-path decoherence, the N³ triplet-combinatorial structure that steepens the mass scaling also drives super-extensive momentum diffusion, amplifying the rate at neutron-star scale by a factor ~10¹⁴⁵. Avoiding observed neutron-star heating would require an effective coherence length ≳ 10⁴¹ m, while producing laboratory-scale decoherence requires < 10⁻⁷ m — an irreconcilable conflict. Survival would require a momentum-conserving (topological) coupling that the published dynamical mechanism does not provide. The prediction is therefore withdrawn. The retraction was prompted by the research programme's own pre-registered falsification analysis; the original record is preserved for version-history integrity. This retraction concerns only the M⁻⁸ᐟ³ dynamical prediction and does not assert any replacement prediction.
