Abstract

"Beyond Metric-Centric Governance: Rescuing Social Resilience through the WGS Basin-Expansion Framework." This paper presents the Practical Implementation Edition of the Wave-Geometry-Snapshot (WGS) model. While modern governance, corporate management, and AI ethics are increasingly trapped in the optimization of discrete metrics (KPI Trap), this work provides a mathematical and institutional escape route. By integrating a dynamical systems simulation, I demonstrate the "Basin Shrinkage" phenomenon—where over-optimization physically erodes the system's capacity for recovery. This paper transitions from pure ontology to actionable social technology, offering: Numerical Evidence: Quantitative proof of the trade-off between metric performance and systemic resilience. Anti-KPI Archetypes: Six universal design principles to expand the "Basin of Attraction" (Γ). Cross-Domain Checklists: Practical diagnostic tools for policy-makers, executives, and AI developers. Relationship with Previous Works This implementation-focused paper is the culmination of the "Life OS" and "Wave Ontology" research series. It specifically builds upon and bridges the following foundational works: Theoretical Precursor (WGS Ontology):This work provides the implementation framework for the three-layer ontology established in "The Wave–Geometry–Snapshot (WGS) Model: A Three-Layer Ontology of Socio-Technical Systems" (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.18295770). Problem Formalization (The KPI Trap):It provides the mathematical proof and simulation for the phenomenon first identified in "KPI Trap (Over-optimization and the Collapse of Meaning)" (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.18264106). Ontological Foundation (It from Wave):The "Wave" layer in this model is grounded in the physics and philosophy of "Life OS Manifesto / The Philosophy of 'It from Wave'" (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.18106437). Ethical Guidance (Envelopment Ethics):The "Generativity-First" principle used in this implementation follows the framework of "Envelopment Ethics (Generativity-First Envelopment)" (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.18256968). Update Note (v2): > Corrected the simulation script filename to wgs_simulation.py to ensure consistency with the README and the paper's text.
