Minimum Classicality Threshold for Observers
Abstract
This deposit introduces a formal operational criterion for observerhood in quantum emergence, defining observers as fragment-limited agents performing bounded-error inference of a pointer/world variable. Using a solvable controlled-imprinting collision model, it derives an exact viability threshold and objectivity capacity, and proves a rigorous observer-impossibility region via Holevo and Fano bounds. The results reframe classical objectivity as a supply-limited regime, where observers emerge only when environment fragments store sufficiently distinguishable and redundant records.
