Continuity Decay Regime (CDR): Modeling Progressive Loss of System Identity and Recoverability
Abstract
The Continuity Decay Regime (CDR) introduces a structured framework for understanding how complex systems progressively lose coherence, identity, and recoverability over time. Rather than treating failure as a singular or instantaneous event, CDR models degradation as a directional process in which continuity erodes across structural, functional, and informational layers. By defining decay regimes and identifying measurable indicators, the framework enables earlier detection of system decline and supports informed intervention prior to irreversible collapse.
