An Introduction to Building the DengX Framework for Dengue Forecasting

An article for the public health practitioner, interested in the emerging role of Predictive Artificial Intelligence in disease forecasting. In this text, we discuss AI Snake Oil by Narayanan and Kapoor, the limitations of predictive AI, and the critical conditions for its effective use. We then present three guiding principles for conducting Predictive AI research and propose a research plan to develop a structured framework for dengue forecasting.
