Scale-Selective and Geometric Coupling Between CMB Lensing Convergence and Large-Scale Structure
Abstract
This work presents an empirical investigation of scale-selective and geometry-dependent gravitational coupling between CMB lensing convergence and large-scale structre tracers. Building on the response-field framework introduced in Gravity as a Response Field in Spacetime (Chaplin, 2026) and its Supplementary Information, this paper demonstrates that gravitational coupling is neither uniform across scales nor reducible to simple mass-tracing prescriptions. Instead, the observed coupling exhibits strong dependence on angular scale, spatial coherence, and structural geometry. The results reported here are derived from multiple independent analyses, including band-limited cross-coorlations, geometric partitioning, rotation and shuffle null tests, and mass-controlled comparisons. These findings place strong empirical constraints on interpretations in which gravitational observables arise solely from locally generated curvature sourced by matter distributions. This paper functions as a follow-on empirical study that stabalizes and sharpens the response-field interpretation without introducing new microscopic gravitational dynamics.
