The Influence of Interpersonal Interaction on Academic Interest of Undergraduate Top Students: The Mediating Role of Academic Confidence
Abstract
Academic interest is the core driving force for the growth of top innovative talents. Interpersonal interaction and academic confidence are important factors influencing the formation and development of academic interest among top undergraduate students. To deeply explore the mechanisms among these three factors, this study conducted a questionnaire survey involving 350 top undergraduate students. The findings reveal that interpersonal interaction has a significant positive promoting effect on academic interest, with variations in the impact of different types of interactions. Academic confidence plays a partial mediating role between interpersonal interaction and academic interest. Enhancing the quality of interpersonal interaction and strengthening students’ academic confidence are effective pathways for cultivating academic interest. Accordingly, recommendations are proposed: optimize interpersonal interaction to build a diversified support system; enhance academic confidence to solidify the psychological foundation of academic interest; and pay attention to individual differences to implement classified training. These measures aim to boost the academic interest of top undergraduate students and provide sustained momentum for talent cultivation.
