MAMM (v1.0-alpha): Margin-Affected Marsh Morphodynamics Model and Associated Dataset
Abstract
MAMM v1.0 is a simplified morphodynamic model designed to simulate the coupled lateral expansion and vertical accretion of salt marshes. It explicitly accounts for the suppression of sedimentation by wave action at the seaward margin. This model was developed for the study: "Marsh expansion accelerates mud accumulation on low-energy sandy coasts" (submitted to Geomorphology). This release includes the source code (MAMM_v1.0.py), a model input file (modelinput.csv), and the primary data used to generate the figures presented in the manuscript (data_for_figures.zip). Note on Release Status: This version is a pre-production release (v1.0-alpha) intended primarily for peer review and transparency regarding the associated manuscript. While the core logic and data for the study are complete, the code may undergo further optimization. Users should cite this version as a record of the model state at the time of submission.
