Abstract

Women empowerment is a fundamental pillar in achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat–2047, which aims to transform India into a developed and inclusive nation by the centenary year of independence. Empowering women through education, economic participation, political representation, healthcare access, and digital inclusion strengthens social equity and accelerates national development. Government initiatives, legal reforms, and grassroots movements have played a significant role in enhancing women’s status; however, challenges such as gender inequality, limited workforce participation, and socio-cultural barriers persist. This paper examines the role of women empowerment in nation-building and highlights its contribution to sustainable growth, innovation, and inclusive development envisioned under Viksit Bharat–2047.
