Abstract
Abstract (Eng) This thesis examines the transformations in the relationship between technical expertise and hierarchical authority in work contexts mediated by artificial intelligence systems. Through a theoretical and analytical approach, the study explores how the introduction of algorithmic tools into processes of decision-making, coordination, and evaluation reshapes traditional balances between expert knowledge, professional experience, and organizational power. The research argues that the adoption of artificial intelligence does not necessarily lead to a redistribution of technical expertise toward those who design, implement, or use these systems, but often reinforces pre-existing structures of authority. In particular, it shows how technical opacity, the externalization of knowledge, and the symbolic delegation of decision-making to automated systems contribute to a gradual dispossession of professional expertise, even in highly technologized environments. The thesis also investigates the tensions that arise between technical legitimacy and hierarchical legitimacy, demonstrating how artificial intelligence can operate as a device of authority that reconfigures responsibility, control, and accountability within organizations. It concludes that a critical understanding of these dynamics is essential for assessing the social and organizational implications of artificial intelligence adoption in the workplace.
