The Metabolic Residue of the Vacuum: A Bioenergetic Solution to the Cosmological Constant Problem
Abstract
The Cosmological Constant Problem (Λ), refers to the difference of approximately 10^{120} between the vacuum energy density and the theoretical estimate of Quantum Field Theory (QFT). This is one of the greatest errors in physics. In this article, to find an answer to this problem, space-time has been likened to a biological distribution system. A relationship of similarity has been established between "Mitochondrial Proton Leakage" and "Dark Energy". It has been thought that Dark Energy is not an external force; rather, vacuum energy behaves like a "metabolic residue" (leakage) necessary to maintain the thermodynamic equilibrium of the space-time fabric. This model is an idea about understanding cosmic acceleration as a function of "universal metabolic aging" and decreasing vacuum efficiency.
