Vacuum Quantum Information Theory (VQIT)
Abstract
Vacuum Quantum Information Theory (VQIT) presents a structural and ontologically minimal framework aimed at reexamining the foundations of contemporary physics from an informational perspective. Rather than proposing a new fundamental interaction or replacing existing physical theories, VQIT is formulated as a meta-theoretical framework in which quantum information of the vacuum is treated as the primary physical category, while spacetime, geometry, locality, energy, and dynamics arise as effective, regime-dependent structures. The theory assumes a global quantum state of the vacuum described relationally through abstract informational subregions, without presupposing a fundamental spacetime background. Within this setting, quantum correlations—such as entanglement and mutual information—constitute the fundamental physical content. Geometric notions, temporal ordering, causality, and effective energy emerge only through stable informational patterns under explicit coarse-graining procedures. VQIT explicitly allows for non-geometric and non-spatiotemporal regimes of the vacuum, thereby avoiding the assumption that geometric emergence is universal. The framework emphasizes conceptual clarity, minimal ontological commitment, and internal coherence over immediate empirical prediction. Its validity is assessed through structural consistency, effective recoverability of known physical descriptions, and controlled emergence of classical regimes. The book develops the conceptual foundations of VQIT, introduces its core postulates, analyzes emergent geometry, time, and gravity, and situates the framework in relation to quantum field theory, quantum gravity approaches, and information-theoretic reconstructions. It is intended as a rigorous contribution to ongoing discussions on the ontological and structural foundations of physics.
