"Cosmic Pareto Regimes in Coupled Cosmological Ensembles"
Abstract
This deposit presents a computational study of partial coordination in coupled cosmological ensembles, identifying what we term a Cosmic Pareto Regime. Using a phenomenological network-based model in which cosmological parameters evolve under weak to moderate coupling, we show that systems robustly self-organize into three regimes: (i) low-coupling dispersion, (ii) an intermediate regime of partial clustering (≈30–70% similarity), and (iii) high-coupling synchronization. Across multiple system sizes, the intermediate regime consistently emerges and centers near ~40–50% similarity, naturally encompassing the previously observed ~44% clustering of fundamental constants. This result indicates that partial similarity is not a finely tuned point, but a typical outcome of near-critical coordination, analogous to Pareto-like distributions in complex systems where neither full uniformity nor complete diversity is favored. The model does not assume anthropic selection, explicit targeting of observed constants, or specific microphysical mechanisms. Instead, it demonstrates that fine-tuning can be reinterpreted as a regime property of interacting systems, rather than as an improbable coincidence. The results are intended as a minimal, exploratory framework motivating further investigation into coupling, criticality, and robustness in cosmological parameter spaces.
