Abstract

Abstract This paper presents a metrological and logistical audit of ancient quarrying sites, identifying a global "Industrial GOST" for stone production. Analysis of rock-cut depressions in Egypt, Lebanon, China, and Peru reveals a standardized batch-mold system measuring 2x1 units of local measure (Cubit/Foot), designed to produce 700–800 kg modules. The study explains the "Narrow Door Paradox" through the "Chessboard Casting" method, where small pre-cast blocks served as formwork for pouring massive 70-ton monoliths in situ. The presence of diorite grinding balls and scoop marks (rather than chisel negatives) confirms a chemical slurry-based construction process rather than mechanical masonry.
