Time as a Fundamental Agent in the Unification of General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics (Preprint)
Abstract
This work proposes a hypothesis to address the incompatibility between General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics regarding the nature of time. We suggest that time should be understood as an entropic record of space. In quantum systems, time remains fixed due to negligible entropic variation, while in relativistic systems, time curves as a function of entropy scale and gravity. In extreme regimes, such as black holes, space continues to change while time appears frozen, suggesting that space and time can be dissociated. The proposed formulation introduces a candidate equation linking time to entropy variation and spacetime curvature. This approach may provide a common denominator for unifying both theories. Possible testability includes entangled quantum systems, black hole entropy, and computational simulations. This preprint aims to stimulate discussion and further exploration of time as a fundamental agent in quantum gravity research.
