Universal Mechanism for Coulomb Repulsion Collapse and Inertial Inversion under Strong Periodic Driving
Abstract
We propose a novel mechanism to suppress the Coulomb barrier in lattice-confined systems without relying on high-temperature plasma. By utilizing Floquet engineering under a strong periodicdriving field, we demonstrate that the effective mass of electrons can be tuned to approach zeroor inverted to negative values (m∗ < 0). This inertial inversion induces a super-screening effect, effectively neutralizing the Coulomb repulsion between nuclei. We derive the universal scaling lawdependent on the dimensionless parameter ξ, identified as the ratio of the driving field amplitudeto the frequency, and show that a specific condition (ξ ≈ 2.405) triggers a phase transition leading to spontaneous low-energy nuclear reactions. This framework also suggests a unified origin forhigh-temperature superconductivity and anomalous inertial responses in gravitational fields.
