Inertial Inversion Screening and Coulomb Barrier Suppression: A Numerical Investigation from THz Solids to kHz Optical Lattices
Abstract
We present a comprehensive numerical investigation of ”Inertial Inversion Screening (IIS),”a mechanism proposed to suppress the Coulomb barrier via Floquet engineering. Expanding uponpreliminary hypotheses [1], our simulations indicate that driving a Palladium lattice at 34.5 THz(E ≈ 8.8 MV/cm) dynamically inverts the effective electron mass (m∗ < 0). We validate thishypothesis through a rigorous multi-physics framework: (1) Universal Scaling verified acrossPd, Ti, Ni, and Li; (2) Quantum Validity confirmed via exact diagonalization of the FloquetHamiltonian in the extended Hilbert space; (3) Robustness demonstrated against 20% randomdisorder and anharmonic potentials; and (4) Fusion Prerequisites, showing a 51-fold reductionin nuclear approach distance and a theoretical 10118-fold enhancement in tunneling probability.Furthermore, we address experimental feasibility by analyzing thermal stability under femtosecondpulses and proposing a scalable analog experiment in optical lattices (predicted critical amplitude∆L≈26.3 nm).
