Corrigendum to Codex Obscura: Grammatical Analysis of COI vs. COAM in a Coan Wine Phrase
Abstract
This corrigendum addresses a grammatical refinement concerning the phrase CADUM ADDO UVAM LACU as presented in Codex Obscura: Secrets of the Voynich Manuscript. The note evaluates the competing readings COI and COAM, demonstrating that COI CADUM constitutes the grammatically and historically correct construction when referring to a vessel originating from the island of Cos, while COAM CADUM introduces a gender agreement conflict inconsistent with standard Latin usage. The correction does not alter the substantive interpretation of the passage but improves its grammatical precision and internal coherence.
