DESIGN AND ANALYSIS OF POWER ELECTRONIC CONVERTERS FOR HIGH-EFFICIENCY RENEWABLE ENERGY APPLICATIONS
Abstract
The increasing penetration of renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind, into modern power systems demands high-efficiency power electronic converters to ensure optimal energy conversion and grid integration. This study focuses on the design and analysis of advanced power electronic converters tailored for renewable energy applications. Various converter topologies, including DC-DC and DC-AC architectures, are evaluated in terms of efficiency, voltage regulation, and power quality under variable environmental and load conditions. Simulation and analytical methods are employed to assess the performance of these converters, with particular attention to switching losses, thermal behavior, and control strategies such as Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) and Pulse Width Modulation (PWM). The results demonstrate significant improvements in energy conversion efficiency and power delivery stability, highlighting the potential of optimized converter designs in enhancing the reliability and sustainability of renewable energy systems. This research provides insights for the development of high-performance power electronic systems that can maximize the utilization of renewable energy resources while minimizing energy losses and operational costs.
