Abstract

This digest presents an overview of the Process Grammar Model, a framework for describinglanguage use along a time axis through the distinction and continuum between ImmediateGrammar and Adjustive Grammar. Immediate Grammar corresponds to intuitively selected andpromptly realized utterances, while Adjustive Grammar involves deliberate judgment andrevision. Rather than treating these as a simple binary opposition, the model conceptualizesthem as dynamically interacting processes. This document serves as a concise entry pointto the theoretical framework; for the full model and detailed discussions, see the mainProcess Grammar Model publication.
