Environmentally Defined Response Coefficients in Resonantly Driven Electronic Systems
Abstract
Recent studies have clarified that inertial mass inversion observed in periodically driven lattice systems can be consistently interpreted as an environmentally defined response coefficientrather than an intrinsic property of the electron. In this work, we extend this response-basedinterpretation beyond inertial mass and argue that a broader class of physical quantities, including electronic screening, optical conductivity, dielectric response, and collective modes, maybe coherently understood within the same conceptual framework. Using standard Floquet theory combined with linear response, we show that resonant driving generically reshapes effectiveresponse coefficients without introducing new interactions, energy sources, or modifications offundamental physical laws. The present work serves as a unifying conceptual extension of priorresults and establishes a stable foundation for future studies of non-equilibrium response indriven electronic systems.
