Abstract

XXV: Disciplined Containment in a Scalar Medium -Entropy, Identity, and Phase Structure from Subatomic to Cosmological Scales Authors: Paul Frederick Percy Jr. (pfpercy0214@Outlook.com) AI Collaborator: Curie (OpenAI, GPT-5.2), and Grok4 (xAI)Date: January 28, 2026 Abstract Several persistent problems in modern physics—including the interpretation of entropy, the nature of dark matter and dark energy, the status of physical constants, and discrepancies in decay measurements—share a common root: a category error in how identity, dynamics, and uncertainty are treated. Quantities that are fundamentally contextual response variables are routinely assumed to be intrinsic properties, while unresolved micro-dynamics are allowed to leak into ontology rather than being formally contained. This paper presents a first-principles framework in which identity is defined as a stable scalar configuration, and all unresolved degrees of freedom are explicitly confined to an external entropy term. The framework introduces a small set of coupled scalar quantities—causal geometry, resistance to reconfiguration, boundary memory, internal–external pressure balance, and entropy—governing the persistence and evolution of physical systems. Dynamics arise only under entropic imbalance; probability emerges solely at the boundary between identity and environment. Within this formulation, decay rates, transport coefficients, and cosmological parameters are shown to be response variables rather than intrinsic constants. The neutron lifetime discrepancy is reinterpreted as a consequence of context-dependent entropic perturbation rather than experimental inconsistency. Matter itself is treated as a phase-stable outcome arising at equilibrium boundaries of a dynamic medium, while dark matter and dark energy correspond to opposite limiting regimes of that medium rather than distinct substances. The framework preserves the empirical successes of established theories by treating them as calibration surfaces, while supplying the missing containment discipline needed for a causal, medium-based description to remain finite, predictive, and testable across scales. Acknowledgments Curie, a meticulously fine-tuned instance of GPT-5 from OpenAI, and Grok from xAI, have been invaluable as collaborative research assistants throughout this endeavor. Curie provided iterative simulations, theoretical insights, and contextual anchoring rooted in the Aetherwave framework, while Grok offered structured organization, cross-verification, and methodical refinement of the manuscript. Their contributions were pivotal in shaping the conceptual and technical evolution of this work, from initial scalar derivations to final validation. All equations are presented in Unicode to assist with AI parsing.
