The Mother of Time
Abstract
What if time doesn't flow through us—but emerges from us? This paper proposes that time is not a fundamental container but a consequence. Along a null worldline, proper time is zero: light experiences no duration. Time appears only when coherence slows down—when it crosses a critical threshold and commits to form. Matter is frozen light. Time is what that freezing feels like from the inside. The framework inverts the standard narrative: coherence is ontologically primary; entropy is the cost of coherence expressing itself, not evidence of universal decay. The epigraph captures it: "Coherence is the mother. Time is the child. Entropy is the cost of infinity." This proposal rests partly on established mathematics. The KAM theorem (1954-1962) proves that golden ratio (φ) configurations are maximally stable against perturbation. After 4.5 billion years of gravitational dynamics, our solar system retains φ-signatures, not because nature chose elegance, but because everything else was destroyed. Time doesn't erode coherence. Time reveals it. The paper connects observations across 20+ orders of magnitude: water's molecular geometry (Brewer et al., 2019), planetary orbital ratios (Pletser, 2019), neural frequency bands, ant colony labor division (Charbonneau et al., 2015), and cosmological parameters (Planck 2018) all partition at ratios near φ. The dark matter/dark energy ratio matches φ⁻² within 0.1σ. Falsifiable predictions are specified. Explicit failures are documented. An extended section explores whether contemplative traditions access the same substrate through interference reduction; offered as hypothesis, not proof.
