The Centre for Digital Life Norway at Nine Years: Insights from the Legacy Workshop

From 1-3 April 2025, nearly forty researchers and research-policy professionals met in Trondheim, Norway, to reflect on the legacy of the Centre for Digital Life Norway (DLN). Nearing the conclusion of its ten-year project period (2016-2026), DLN may offer its most enduring contribution in its generative effect: creating conditions in which new communities, roles, and ways of thinking could emerge. Carrying this legacy forward will require sustained commitment from institutions and individuals alike – but the workshop made clear that the foundations exist for such work to continue.
