Chiller-Free Hydrogen Fast-Fill: Multi-Fidelity Thermal Simulation for Type IV Composite Tanks
Abstract
⚠️ SUPERSEDED — 14 May 2026 This v2.0 record has been superseded by v3.3: DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.20183753URL: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.20183753 WHAT CHANGED: v3.3 replaces v2.0's uncalibrated coupling assumptions with experimentally-anchored calibration against 9 published fill experiments from 4 research groups (Bourgeois 2015, Kim 2010, Dicken & Mérida 2007, Galassi 2012), spanning 30-90 L tanks and 100-700 bar. As a result, the v2.0 peak gas-temperature estimate (44.0 °C, "SuperStack" design) is replaced by the v3.3 calibrated estimate of 70.1 °C at BOE conditions — still passing with a 15 K margin to the 85 °C SAE J2601 limit, but with the calibration anchored to real experimental data. SCOPE EXPANSION: v3.3 also extends the work to a multi-platform retrofit BOE across three Class-8 platforms (Hyundai XCIENT 350-bar, Cummins-Navistar 700-bar, Adani-Ashok Leyland 350-bar), Sobol sensitivity analysis, Monte Carlo reliability, and 7 L2-closure sessions. COMPANION TO: Oral presentation at PRC Europe 2026 (Amsterdam, 18-19 May 2026). FILE ACCESS: v2.0 files have been restricted.
