MAIN DIRECTIONS AND SCIENTIFIC SIGNIFICANCE OF MODERN LINGUISTIC RESEARCH
Abstract
This study examines the main directions and scientific significance of contemporary linguistic research. The research highlights the development of theoretical and applied linguistics, the exploration of language as a social and cognitive phenomenon, and the impact of modern technologies on language studies. Attention is given to how linguists analyze syntax, semantics, pragmatics, and discourse to uncover patterns in language use. The study also emphasizes the role of comparative and typological approaches, as well as corpus-based and experimental methods, in providing empirical support for linguistic theories. Modern linguistic research not only advances our understanding of language structures but also contributes to educational practices, cross-cultural communication, and artificial intelligence applications.
