Abstract

The X1.9-class solar flare and full-halo CME of January 18, 2026, exhibit distinctive morphological and temporal signatures that challenge conventional coronal magnetic reconnection models. Timelapse video analysis reveals two near-resonant toroidal structures straddling the solar equator, connected by persistent trans-equatorial flux ropes with a measured axial orientation of 55 degrees (NW-SE, high-inclination longitudinal configuration). The impulsive phase features a volcanic-style eruption from the southern object's central aperture, with super-bright plasma "lava flood" tightly wrapping the toroidal body and exhibiting marked southeast bias along the axial bridge.
