Abstract

The Indian household goods market is undergoing a transformative shift driven by digital innovation, particularly in the areas of paperless operations and smart logistics. With rising e-commerce penetration, increased smartphone usage, and government initiatives promoting digital governance, companies are increasingly adopting cloud-based document management, blockchain-enabled traceability, and AI powered supply chain systems to improve efficiency and sustainability. This paper presents a strategic analysis of paperless models and smart logistics in the Indian household goods sector, evaluating technological enablers, operational benefits, and implementation challenges. Drawing on primary data from industry reports and secondary sources, the study investigates how digital transformation is addressing long-standing inefficiencies in distribution and inventory management. Findings indicate that digitization enhances transparency, reduces operational costs, and improves customer satisfaction. However, disparities in digital literacy, infrastructure gaps, and data security concerns remain critical barriers. The paper concludes with policy and managerial recommendations to accelerate adoption while ensuring inclusivity and resiliencein India’s evolving retail ecosystem.
