A museological proposal for the Gorgopotamos Museum
Abstract
This preliminary study concerns the creation of a History and Bridge Museum in Gorgopotamos, which will be housed in the old primary school of the settlement in a 130 m² single-story building. The aim of the project is to highlight the historical event of the blowing up of the Gorgopotamos Bridge in 1942, one of the most important acts of the National Resistance during World War II. The museum will be a place of memory, knowledge, and culture, offering visitors a comprehensive experience of understanding historical events, local and international social conditions, and the role of Gorgopotamos in the broader struggle for freedom.
