Abstract

Progressive muscle relaxation (PMR) is the by tensing and relaxing various muscles in the body, a person can release tension and trigger a relaxation response by using the progressive muscle relaxation (PMR) technique. Based on the idea that muscle tension is the body's psychological reaction to ideas that cause anxiety and that muscle relaxation prevents anxiety, progressive muscle relaxation (PMR) is a non-pharmacological technique for profound muscle relaxation. The present study is conducted by the quantitative research approach and quasi experimental, one group pretest post test design used. The sample were collected by using non probability purposive sampling technique. Sample size is 30. The sample was choosen based on a specific inclusion criteria. Before data collection the consent was taken from the participants. Self-structured checklist for assessment of biophysiological parameters was used. Pre- test and post test was conducted and progressive muscle relaxation provide to experimental group. Paired t-test used for the effect of progressive muscle relaxation on bio physiological parameters among children receiving chemotherapy. Fisher’s exact test for the association between selected demographical variable with biophysiological parameters.
