Nowe stanowisko Polysarcus denticauda (CHARPENTIER, 1825) (Orthoptera: Tettigoniidae) w Polsce / New record of Polysarcus denticauda (CHARPENTIER, 1825) (Orthoptera: Tettigoniidae) in Poland
Abstract
This paper reports a site of Polysarcus denticauda (CHARPENTIER, 1825) in southeastern Poland, located in the“Szachownica” nature reserve in Krówniki (Podkarpackie Province). The species was recorded there between 2023 and 2025,both as larvae and numerous adults, indicating the presence of a stable population. The location represents one of the lowestknown elevations of this species in Europe and confirms that it can also inhabit lowland meadows, provided that the appropriatevegetation structure is maintained. Due to the rarity of P. denticauda in Poland, this observation significantly contributes to theknowledge of its national distribution and highlights the need for continued monitoring of the species.
