Abstract

Abstract The current issues are considered: what do we teach our schoolchildren and students, what do they specifically need to carry out competent and adequate communication with native speakers of the Russian language? The problem of instilling background knowledge about the country of the language being studied is investigated, and ways to solve it are proposed. It is recommended to use educational films in the process of teaching RFL, taking into account the specific stage of the educational process, as well as the formation of students' language and speech skills. In addition to instilling background knowledge, films are considered as a way to solve the problem of training and activating the studied language material in speech. Therefore, they should be used not spontaneously, but taking into account the increasing linguistic and speech difficulties, as well as the cyclical repetition of linguistic material, speech patterns, etc.
