A.R.O.S. (Anosmia Recovery Opal System): Multimodal Mineral–Neuromodulatory Therapy in Long-Term Post-Surgical Anosmia — A Case Report
Abstract
Background: Long-term post-surgical anosmia is generally regarded as a condition with poor prognosis, as prolonged sensory deprivation leads to both peripheral olfactory degeneration and central cortical reorganization. Objective: To report the first clinically documented case supporting the A.R.O.S. (Anosmia Recovery Opal System), a multimodal mineral–neuromodulatory framework aimed at restoring olfactory function after long-standing anosmia. Methods: A.R.O.S. combines intranasal mineral stimulation, trigeminal sensory activation, auricular neuromodulation, and neurovegetative regulation to target peripheral olfactory structures and central neuroplastic mechanisms. Results: A 45-year-old female patient with complete post-surgical anosmia persisting for 20 years demonstrated progressive recovery of identifiable odors: curry after 14 days, garlic after 20–21 days, and additional odor perception after continued therapy. Conclusion: This observation suggests that olfactory recovery may be achievable even after prolonged anosmia when peripheral, trigeminal, and central mechanisms are addressed simultaneously. Further systematic investigation is warranted.
