Abstract

This work presents the Maxwell–Scretching Chain (v2), a unified electromagnetic–quantum–statistical framework that establishes an explicit, equation-level closure between Maxwell’s constitutive equations and experimentally measurable spectroscopic observables. The theory applies consistently across the entire electromagnetic spectrum, from radiofrequency and microwave regimes through infrared, visible, ultraviolet, and into regimes relevant for plasmonics, condensed matter, and superconductors. In the ultraviolet–visible domain, the framework is rigorously validated using reference-grade UV extinction coefficients from Cavaluzzi and Borer (2004) for nucleoside-5′-monophosphates at 260 nm. These revised coefficients, which correct aggregation and base-stacking artifacts present in earlier datasets, serve as an independent experimental anchor for testing the chain. Starting from molar absorptivity (ε), the Maxwell–Scretching Equations derive and verify deterministic, unit-consistent relationships linking absorbance (A), absorption coefficient (α), extinction coefficient (κ), molecular absorption cross-section (σ), imaginary relative permittivity (εʺᵣ), and quantum-mechanical oscillator strength (f). Regression and correlation analyses demonstrate exact linear proportionality among all parameters (R² = 1.000, zero intercepts within numerical precision), confirming that each observable is a predictable consequence of Maxwellian field theory once quantum transition probabilities are properly embedded. The Maxwell–Scretching Chain is presented as a reference-grade, no-free-parameter framework that unifies classical electromagnetism, molecular spectroscopy, and quantum transition theory. Its applicability extends beyond nucleic acids, providing a general, physically constrained methodology for interpreting electromagnetic absorption and dispersion phenomena across diverse materials and frequency regimes.
