Trace Source Origin of Life Theory (TSOLT) Metric Life as Field-Coupled, Trace-Conditioned Informational Function
Abstract
Origin-of-life work often inherits a hidden problem: the phrase “life begins” is used as if “life” already has a stable, consensus definition, and as if the transition must be a cliff. Trace Source Origin of Life Theory (TSOLT) starts by making the measurement target explicit. It treats origin-of-life as a corridor problem: which physical regimes first produce durable, state-dependent informational function that can persist, recover, proliferate, and propagate under variable environmental envelopes. TSOLT is trace-first and non-teleological. It does not explain origins by invoking intention or purpose; it asks what trace-organized dynamics can reliably sustain when internal organization is coupled to external constraints, resources, gradients, and perturbations. In this view, “life” is not a static property of a bounded object inside a passive background; it is an internal–external coupled regime in which the environment participates in enabling the function, and the regime’s products can in turn modify the environment that filters among trajectories. TSOLT’s central contribution is a descriptive ladder for locating “metric life” without reducing the problem to a single privileged chemistry. It frames candidate origin corridors by mechanism families: trace-conditioned routing (history-sensitive state transitions), modulation (history-conditioned pathway re-weighting), incremental informational function (accumulating usable routing constraints that expand functional repertoire and robustness), and coordinative orchestrative function (integration that stabilizes and composes partial functions into more effective capacities). Variable Complementary Determinism (determinism + latitude) is used to explain why multiple viable corridors are expected while collapse corridors remain abundant.Links (navigation)Landing page: https://armandosotouidt.github.io/tsolt/Master index (all theories): https://armandosotouidt.github.io/If links are stripped, search repository: armandosotouidt
