EVALUATION OF INDIVIDUAL AGING PROGRESSION IN MICE USING «CYLINDER» EXPRESS TEST
Abstract
Author's modification of the "Cylinder" behavioral test is designed to quantitatively assess the individual degree of aging in mice within the personalized 3S-paradigm of biomedicine. Behavior in the cylinder (30 sec) of old female CBRB mice with parkinsonism symptoms differed from that of young females in 7 out of 14 recorded activity parameters. During a longitudinal study, individual data of old mice were retrospectively stratified by time until natural death into 3 subgroups. Based on multiple linear regression, an individual behavioral index (IBI) was developed using 5 key activity parameters. The IBI significantly and monotonically increased with aging and approaching death. The possibility of objectively stratifying mice in small samples by vitality level, even at the preclinical disease stage, is demonstrated.
