MILITARY-POLITICAL DISCOURSE AS A TOOL FOR CONSTRUCTING A LINGUISTIC PICTURE OF THE POLITICAL WORLD
Abstract
The article explores military-political discourse as a tool for constructing the linguistic picture of the political world. Theoretical foundations of the linguistic picture of the world, the influence of language on perception and worldview of speakers, and the role of military and political metaphors in shaping public consciousness are analyzed. A typology of political and military-political metaphors according to Chudinov is presented, along with a sample corpus of metaphors illustrating the strategic and manipulative use of language. Historical and contemporary examples of linguistic manipulation (Orwell, Klemperer, USSR, modern Western politics) are discussed. The study emphasizes that military-political discourse shapes cognitive and emotional models of perception regarding war, threats, and national security, serving as an instrument of influence on mass consciousness.
