Abstract

This release is the initial artifact snapshot for the ICPE 2026 Artifact Evaluation of the paper: perfaid: A Declarative Framework for Composable Performance Evaluation of System Software Status: review snapshot (v0.0.1) A final archival release v1.0.0 will be created after the evaluation period. This artifact provides: All scripts required to reproduce the experimental results reported in the paper Runnable code examples corresponding to paper listings Full experiment campaigns producing all figures (Sections 3–5) All framework dependencies included as git submodules Complete documentation, installation instructions, and troubleshooting notes The artifact demonstrates perfaid's compositional approach across: benchmarks (LevelDB, RocksDB, SPEC CPU 2017, microbenchmarks) locking mechanisms (Tilt / libmutrep) scheduling policies (schedkit / UserPlace) profiling tools (perf stat, perf record, flame graphs) execution environments (host and Docker) Reproducibility notes: The artifact does not require identical hardware to that used in the paper. Absolute performance values may differ, but qualitative trends and conclusions are expected to reproduce on comparable systems. Where proprietary software is required (SPEC CPU 2017), open-source alternatives are provided and documented. All experiments were validated on modern Linux distributions (Ubuntu 20.04–24.04, Manjaro 26). Artifact Evaluation badges: This artifact is submitted for: Artifacts Available Artifacts Evaluated - Functional Artifacts Evaluated - Reusable
