Abstract

This review explores the innovations in dental crowns within pediatric dentistry, emphasizing materials that are both aesthetic and biocompatible, such as zirconia crowns, strip crowns, art glass crowns, shell crowns, figaro crowns, and Bioflx crowns. It highlights their significance in repairing decayed or damaged teeth and enhancing children's oral health and psychological well-being. The methodology included a thorough literature search conducted over the past two decades, using databases such as PubMed, Google Scholar, and Chat.Consensus.App. The findings suggest that zirconia crowns are preferred due to their biocompatibility, durability, and aesthetic qualities. However, it is important to note that they are generally more expensive and necessitate greater tooth reduction. Resin-based composite strip crowns offer a commendable balance between aesthetics and functionality, although they encounter challenges regarding long-term stability. Additionally, the review examines art glass crowns, shell crowns, Figaro crowns, and Bioflx crowns.
