PROPOSED THREE-YEAR FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE BASIC EDUCATION DEPARTMENT OF OUR LADY OF THE PILLAR COLLEGE-CAUAYAN, SAN FERMIN, CAUAYAN CITY, ISABELA, SCHOOL YEAR 2025-2028
Abstract
This study sought to create a three-year faculty development plan for the Basic Education Departments of Our Lady of the Pillar College-Cauayan for the school years 2025-2028. Using a quantitative-descriptive design approach, the study surveyed twenty-six (26) basic education teachers from various grade levels to assess current professional development practices, identify future needs, and inform the plan's development. The data gathered were computed and analyzed using frequency, percentage, and weighted mean. Findings show a significant need for professional development across all domains, with curriculum planning and addressing learner diversity as key priorities. While content knowledge and pedagogy also ranked highly, the relatively lower mean score highlights the need for focused training in these areas. The proposed plan emphasizes a holistic approach, addressing all identified domains while prioritizing curriculum planning, learner diversity, content knowledge/pedagogy, and integration of Catholic identity development. This comprehensive approach aims to enhance faculty skills and knowledge, ultimately fostering effective and inclusive student learning experiences.
