DESIGN AND PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF GRIDCONNECTED SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEMS WITH ENERGY STORAGE FOR URBAN POWER NETWORKS
Abstract
The increasing demand for sustainable energy solutions in urban areas has driven the adoption of grid- c onnected solar photovoltaic (PV) systems integrated with energy storage. This research investigates the design and performance analysis of grid -c onnected PV systems with energy storage for urban power networks , focusing on maximizing energy efficiency, reliability, and cost -e ffectiveness. A comprehensive system model is developed considering solar irradiance, urban load profiles, and storage sizing. Simula tion studies are conducted to evaluate energy generation, storage utilization, grid interaction, and system performance under varying conditions. The results demonstrate that optimized PV -s torage integration can significantly reduce dependency on conventio nal energy sources, improve power quality, and enhance grid stability. Economic analysis indicatesfavorablepaybackperiods andcost benefits, highlightingtheviability of deploying such systems in urban environments. This study provides a framework for the practical design and assessment of urban PV -storage systems, contributing to the advancement of sustainable and resilient urban energy infrastructure.
