Gravity as an Emergent Response to Irreversible Classicalization
Abstract
We propose a heuristic refinement of the idea that spacetime curvature responds primarily tothe classicalized portion of quantum stress-energy, i.e., the part that becomes operationally real viairreversible information registration (environmental monitoring / decoherence / collapse-like dynamics). The key move is to replace an undefined "information rate" source with a covariant,observer-independent scalar that quantifies irreversibility (entropy production or Lindblad entropy rate),and to embed the proposal within a stochastic semiclassical gravity picture: the metric couples to aconditional (record-dependent) stress-energy rather than to the raw vacuum expectation value. In thisframing, Lorentz-invariant vacuum contributions are absorbed into the renormalized cosmologicalconstant, while additional large vacuum estimates are dynamically sequestered unless they areconverted into persistent records by boundary conditions or matter. We outline consistency conditions(covariant conservation, Newtonian limit, and Equivalence Principle bounds) and propose experimentalroutes that directly test gravitational sourcing by mesoscopic quantum states.
