Abstract

v1.0: Wilson-Cowan Developmental Sleep Model First stable release of the developmental sleep-wake simulation framework. This release provides the core tools to simulate and visualize the ontogeny of sleep-wake cycles and Locus Coeruleus (LC) activity across three key developmental stages (P2, P10, P21). 🚀 Key Features Stage-Specific Simulations: Dedicated scripts (WC_P2_P10.py, WC_P11-P20.py, WC_P21.py) with tuned connectivity parameters for different developmental ages. Automated Data Output: Generates raw neural activity traces (.npz) and calculated bout durations (.csv) automatically. Standardized Visualization: Full suite of plotting scripts (WC_Figure2 - WC_Figure10) to reproduce publication-quality figures (log-log plots, scatter plots, sequence analysis). Interactive Pathway Analysis: Includes WC_Figure5.ipynb for isolating and testing specific neural pathways (Wake→LC, LC→Sleep, LC→LC). 📦 Quick Start Generate Data: Run a simulation script (e.g., python WC_P21.py). Visualize: Run the corresponding figure script (e.g., python WC_Figure3.py). Explore: Use the Jupyter Notebook for parameter perturbation experiments. 🛠 Dependencies Python 3.x numpy, matplotlib, scipy, notebook
