Author's Addendum: On Relevance, Timing, and Epistemic Effects
Abstract
This document is an author’s addendum accompanying the preprint“Epistemic Space Shaping as a Complementary Approach to AI Safety.” Its purpose is to clarify the relevance, timing, and interpretive context of the proposed conceptual framework in relation to ongoing discussions on AI safety and governance. The addendum does not introduce new theoretical claims or extensions of the original model. Instead, it situates the paper within current debates by emphasizing the temporal dimension of epistemic effects — phenomena that may arise during routine use of language-based systems, prior to advanced capability thresholds or system autonomy. The text is intended to support accurate interpretation of the original work and to articulate its contribution at the intersection of technical alignment, human reasoning, and governance-oriented inquiry.
