Abstract

This volume constructs the deformed coproduct on the affine 0-Hecke monoid H₀(Ã₂) and derives the fundamental constraint on the coupling parameter λ.Starting from the ansatz Δ(x) = x⊗1 + 1⊗x + λ·x⊗x for generators x ∈ {a, b, c}, we require that the coproduct preserve idempotence: Δ(x)² = Δ(x). This condition yields the quadratic equation:λ² + 3λ + 2 = 0The solutions are λ = −1 and λ = −2. We prove that λ = −1 is the unique canonical solution by showing that only this value renders the complementary idempotent e = 1 − x group-like (Δ(e) = e⊗e), ensuring compatibility with the bialgebra structure. The constraint λ = −1 is not imposed—it emerges from the algebraic structure. This derivation establishes the coproduct as the bridge between the monoid structure of Volume I and the counting invariants (33/42) of Volume III.Keywords: deformed coproduct, bialgebra, Hopf algebra, idempotent preservation, coupling constant, quasi-Hopf algebraMSC 2020: 16T05, 16T10, 20M05, 81R50
