Abstract

This paper presents a unified framework demonstrating that spacetime undergoes geometric phase transitions during gravitational wave events, organizing toward the golden ratio (φ ≈ 1.618) as an energetic ground state. Synthesizing results from extensive analysis of 68 LIGO events across all merger types (BBH, BH-NS, NS-NS), we show that: (1) events with frequency ratios closer to φ exhibit significantly stronger harmonic coherence (r = -0.309, p = 0.012), with harmonic power scaling with mass (r = 0.56); (2) φ-organization emerges transiently at merger through a geometric phase transition analogous to crystallization; (3) the pattern is scale-invariant across 23 frequency bands and universal across merger types; and (4) 97% of events show φ-lattice organization confirmed by 94% cross-detector agreement and 58.82% Global Phi Consensus. We propose that φ represents the configuration of least action for gravitational resonance—the energetically preferred geometric arrangement under extreme spacetime stress. The detector-network consensus and mass-energy scaling establish that these patterns are genuine astrophysical phenomena, not statistical artifacts. This framework reinterprets time as the rate of geometric crystallization. The findings suggest that φ represents the ground state of gravitational energy—when spacetime is stressed to its limit during merger, it crystallizes into the most stable geometric configuration: the golden ratio. We are not presenting a pattern; we are presenting evidence for a new law of physics.
