Abstract

FRAMES is a foundational research framework concerned with therepresentation of information as stable, ordered reference structures. At its core, FRAMES deliberately separates order from meaning. The system records information exclusively as append-only units, called Frames, without embedding semantics, interpretation, orassumptions about truth. Truth within FRAMES is handled through a strict epistemic model:statements are either TRUE, FALSE, or UNKNOWN, with UNKNOWN as thedefault and stable state. No inference, execution, or automaticpromotion of truth is performed by the system itself. A closed and immutable axiomatic core ensures long-term consistency. This core defines how Frames are structured and read, while explicitlyforbidding mutation, deletion, or reinterpretation. All interpretiveactivity—analysis, visualization, narration, or hypothesisconstruction—takes place strictly outside the core. FRAMES is not a computation engine, not an intelligent agent, and nota semantic system. It does not act, decide, or evaluate. Instead, itserves as a neutral reference substrate designed for scientificauditability, reproducibility, and long-term archival stability. By removing implicit execution and hidden state, FRAMES provides aquiet, transparent foundation upon which diverse scientific, technical, or educational perspectives can be built—without everaltering the underlying reference structure. The system does not react. It does not speculate. It preserves order and waits.
