USING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TO PREVENT SOCIAL ENGINEERING ATTACKS
Abstract
Social engineering attacks exploit human vulnerabilities, posing a significant challenge to cybersecurity defenses. Traditional approaches often struggle to meet the growing sophistication of these threats. However, artificial intelligence (AI) offers innovative solutions to identify, mitigate, and prevent such attacks. This study delves into modern social engineering strategies, such as phishing, pretexting, and exploitation of social media platforms. It also explores AI-powered solutions, including behavioral analysis, natural language processing (NLP), and predictive analytics, that effectively counter these threats. Case studies demonstrate the successful deployment of AI in real-world scenarios, highlighting its ability to detect anomalies, anticipate attack vectors, and reduce the success rate of manipulative tactics. The results highlight the transformative potential of AI in strengthening cybersecurity frameworks against social engineering, while acknowledging the ongoing need for adaptation and integration with evolving attack methodologies.
