Abstract
Purpose: This study aims to determine physical literacy levels in healthy children aged 8-12 years attending primary and secondary schools in the Şehitkamil district of Gaziantep and to examine related factors. Methods: A total of 117 healthy children aged 8-12 years, residing in Gaziantep and attending primary and secondary school, were included in the study. Data on age, gender, height, weight, body mass index (BMI), participation in sports, grade level, family history of sports participation, screen time, socio-cultural status, economic status, and number of siblings were recorded. Children with regular exercise habits had significantly higher psychological subscale scores (p=0.034). Moreover, children whose families had an exercise habit exhibited significantly higher psychological (p=0.031) and cognitive (p=0.011) subscale scores. A significant negative correlation was observed between age and the subscale scores of the physical literacy scale (p
