From Strong-Field QED to Entropy-Biased Metric Response: Follow-On Testability Strategies at National and Table-Top Scales
Abstract
Recent experiments in strong-field quantum electrodynamics (QED)—includingvacuumbirefringence, trident production, and Schwinger-assisted pair creation—aretypically framed within loop-corrected QED on a flat spacetime background. Herewe reinterpret these phenomena through the Fermion–Causal–Network and Entropic Ensemble (FCN–EE) formalism, which treats the background metric gµνas a quantum expectation value biased by local entropy flux. We show thatfractional reductions ε in the Schwinger threshold correspond to real, measurable shifts in the time-time component of the metric, δg00 ∼ 2ε, already reaching ∼ 0.1–0.3 in published simulations. We calculate the entropy budget of thesesetups (∆S ∼ 10−10SPl), and show how pulse shaping, coherence extension, andspatial entropy patterning can raise this bias by up to ten orders of magnitude, predicting δg00 ∼ 0.5 and exponential gains in pair yield. We further derive theeffective F4 and F6 nonlinear terms from the EE framework, matching the Euler–Heisenberg structure but with entropy-controlled coefficients. Minimal experimental upgrades—stretching τc, imprinting λc structure, and polarimetry—allowfalsifiability of the FCN–EE interpretation on existing high-intensity and wakefieldplatforms.
